Library reopens with new look

After being closed for two weeks, the Sikeston Public Library opened on Monday, August 26 with a new look.

The original carpeting, which had been in place since the library expansion opened in the mid-1990s, has been replaced with a mixture of carpeting and vinyl tile in high-traffic areas, and we have moved from blue-gray carpeting to tones of brown and gray.

While we were closed and moving shelves, some sections of the library have been rearranged for better traffic flow and to reflect how patrons use the library.

Future improvements include new public access computers and renovations to the lobby of the library.
