Genealogy Resources

The Sikeston Public Library has many resources to help you research the past.  We have back issues of the Sikeston Standard-Demcrat from 1913-2008 on microfilm, and from 2006 to present on DVD.

We have an extensive cemetery index for all Scott County cemeteries, which is useful when the exact date of death of a family member is not known.

Through our membership in MOREnet, we also have access to HeritageQuest, a genealogy research site which provides access to census records and other primary sources. This service is available only through the library’s computer or wireless connection.
